Just for the Joy of it: Be Thankful

It has been an interesting week for me. I have come to realize how truly blessed and lucky I am. My boys are healthy, funny, caring and smart kids. Although there are days that are really difficult; fighting, destroying the house, rough housing, throwing tantrums, etc. Even on our worst days, there is someone else in the world that is having a more difficult time. I know this is true but sometimes I need a reminder.

I have been following the story of an amazing little boy named Stellan. He has undergone major surgery this week to repair a heart problem. Stellan coded on Monday right in front of his mother’s eyes. It still brings tears to my eyes to think of it. The glorious thing is that Stellan was brought back to life! He underwent a risky surgery, jumped over many hurdles and is on his way to recovery. Simply a miracle.

What strikes me most about Stellan’s story is his parents never ending hope, strength, faith and positive outlook. I know they are weary and they have been through so much. Yet they stay strong and their faith has never wavered.

It has also been amazing to see so many people praying for Stellan. There has been an unbelievable amount of people, complete strangers like me, thinking, praying and hoping for little Stellan. I know his parents are so thankful for everyones support and prayers.

Be thankful everyday.

Hug and love your children everyday.

Laugh often.

Have faith.

Focus on the Joy in life.
