Help Stamp Out Hunger – May 12, 2012

The post office runs a food donation drive called Stamp Put Hunger tomorrow May 12.

I was hoping everyone could donate a can or two for people who are struggling to make ends meet. I feel very fortunate to be able to provide meals for my family. I also feel fortunate that by using our site I can provide others with groceries for less than I used to pay our families’  groceries.

This site was created to not only spread knowledge, encourage other, but to provide for people in our community.

We  hope you will pull out a couple of cans or coupon for some food items to donate. I hope you will join us,  as we donate a couple of bags of food to those in need. Everyone deserves to eat and everyone is capable of making an impact on our community. If you are a fellow blogger please consider encouraging your readers to help Stamp out Hunger! Don’t forget that you can join in with Couponing for Community too!

Here’s How You Can Help…
Helping Stamp Out Hunger is as easy as checking your mailbox.  Just leave a bag of non-perishable food where your letter carrier normally delivers your mail on Saturday, May 12.  Your letter carrier will then pick up and deliver the food to a local food bank.  Examples of non-perishable items include:
_________• Canned soup
_________• Canned meats and fish
_________• Canned vegetables, fruits and juices
_________• Boxed goods (such as cereal)
_________• Pasta and rice

Thanks for reposting this! It’s so easy to overlook things like donating food, clothes, etc because we all think it will never happen to us. I felt the same way not long ago and here I am….. on the receiving end. I thought that by getting a college degree, I would never need help providing food for my family. I never thought I’d end up with a combination of illnesses that caused me to become legally disabled. And that whopping $16 a month in food stamps doesn’t go very far. Even so, I will have a couple of cans to donate tomorrow because I know I am still better off than so many others.
