Healthy Sodastream Recipes

Sodastream Recipes

Are you considering getting a sodastream? Are you looking for healthy drinks?

Have you seen the sodastream syrups? Some are healthy but some are just a cheaper version of regular soda. If you are looking for something healthy, look no further than what you already approve! Anything powdered or concentrated can be added to the carbonated water from the sodastream.

Sodastream has it’s own bottles that you purchase then fill with tap or filtered water. Fill only to the designated line. Attach the bottle to the machine, press the button 2 or 3 times depending on the level of carbonation you desire. Detach the bottle. At this point, sodastream recommends a small amount of their syrups be poured into the carbonated water. What we have discovered is that a couple of tablespoons of frozen juice concentrate, a 1/4 cup of concentrate from fresh fruit, or powdered mixes can be mixed in for a delicious healthy drink.

Powdered mixes can include crystal light, Wyler’s light instant teas, koolaid, even a bit of flavored jello (regular or sugar free) as well as greens such as Amazing Grass green superfood. My personal favorites are crystal light packages and fruit juice made from fresh fruit.

Fresh fruit juice is easy to make- especially from soft skinned fruits such as peaches and plums. You simply wash your fruit, put the fruit in a pot, cover with water, boil till the skin “pops” and then strain through a colander while mashing with a potato masher. This is also the first step for making fresh fruit jelly.
