Chasin’ Cheeky Review and Giveaway

Last month while I was in Chicago for a blogging conference, I attended a fantastic party thrown by Hasbro. We danced, ate great food, and got to check out some of Hasbro’s newest toys. The star of the dance floor was an adorable monkey named Cheeky who led the crowd in a lively booty-shaking dance throughout the night.

It turns out that Cheeky is also the star of a brand new game called Chasin’ Cheeky, and after seeing this silly purple monkey live, I couldn’t wait to give this game a try! Chasin’ Cheeky is a ring-toss game with a twist. Cheeky zooms around the room while players try to toss rings onto his tail. The first player to get all of his or her rings on the tail grabs the banana out of Cheeky’s mouth and then joins him in his “cheeky” victory dance!

This two-player game is designed for children ages 3 and up. My daughters are 5 and 7 and while I knew they might be too old for Chasin’ Cheeky, I thought we’d give it a try anyway. They were delighted when they saw Cheeky in his box, and they couldn’t wait to get their hands on him! They thought he was adorable, especially when they pulled the banana out of his mouth and he shook his booty. But as far as the actual game play, the ring toss only kept their attention for a short time.

I decided to give Chasin’ Cheeky another whirl with a younger child, so I invited my 4 year old neighbor over to give it a try. He tossed the rings and chased Cheeky around a bit, but like my daughters, his favorite part was watching Cheeky’s silly dance.

I think that Cheeky is a great new addition to Hasbro’s family of characters! Kids will be drawn to his cheerful personality and silly dancing. He was designed with careful attention to detail, but he is also sturdy enough to withstand curious little hands. I would recommend this toy for preschoolers, particularly ages 2-4, who will love chasing Cheeky as he zooms across the floor. I would also recommend using Cheeky on a large, flat surface to maximize his functionality. He didn’t move at all on the carpet, and his movement was restricted in my small tiled foyer.

Chasin’ Cheeky will be available in stores this fall and will retail for about $24.99. But Hasbro is offering one lucky reader the chance to win Chasin’ Cheeky! Enter our giveaway below for the chance to be the first of your friends to try out this adorable new game.
