What a treat it was to be asked to review Gooseberry Patch’s 101 Soups Salads and Sandwiches cookbook a few weeks ago. There were so many wonderful recipes and pictures I had a tough time trying to decide what to make. After reading this beautiful book from cover to cover I settled on a few that I thought my family would enjoy. Like most families, we tend to gravitate toward the same old stuff week in and week out and having some new ideas was exciting for me. I found this cookbook to be easy to read with simple to follow directions and absolutely delicious outcomes each time I prepared a new dish. The recipes in this book do not really require specialty ingredients; I found that I had most everything already in the pantry. By taking things I already had on hand and combining them we had found ourselves some new meal ideas that were not only easy to prepare but delicious. The recipes in 101 Soups Salads and Sandwiches will provide your family with great opportunities to share delicious simple to fix meals that won’t bust your food budget and leave you feeling satisfied when you leave the dinner table. I combined several of the recipes to make a complete meal without having to reach for other books or recipes. 101 Soups Salads and Sandwiches has quickly become one of my favorite cookbooks and I am sure it will be yours too.
