Get Ready to Give All Month Long! 30-Day Giving Challenge

30-Day Giving Challenge

It is November 1st and that means that it is the first day of the 30 Day Giving Challenge. The idea is to give in some way each day throughout the month of November. I have been thinking about this challenge all day. I am excited to see how making a conscious effort to give will impact me and those around me.

I was talking with a man today who just arrived home from a 3 week mission trip to Haiti.  It was a huge eye opener for him and made him so thankful for the simplest things. I know that many of us are not able to give to the extent that this man did. He gave up three weeks and had an experience that will impact him for a lifetime. However, I know that there are many things that we can give whether it be big or small.

Think outside the box.

You do not have to give money.

Give Time.

The biggest challenge for me is giving time. Therefore, I am challenging myself to give time to my friends, family and even complete strangers. I often hear myself saying “there is never enough time in the day”. With that, I know I miss some important things like calling my grandfather who is ill, giving my husband my undivided attention and helping a coworker in need. I am going to make a conscious effort to GIVE the time that is needed.

Plus I will be donating to various charities this month by donating food and toys. (Hint: It is a great week to get FREE items to donate at both Kroger and Harris Teeter!)
