Frugal Kid: Father’s Day Apron

June 17th is Father’s Day and there are so many crafts and card ideas out there. My husband really enjoys grilling during the spring and summer but always makes a mess on his shirts~hopefully this apron will help with the problem and provide a gift he will treasure!

Father’s Day Grilling Apron

Materials:
Apron
Felt (various colors)
Hot Glue Gun
Fabric Paint

*To save money, we used this coupon from AC Moore*

Directions:
1. Decide on a theme for your apron~there are many funny and heartwarming ones that can fit the occasion. We decided “King of the Grill”.
2. Cut out felt shapes (we did a grill, crown, and hamburger).
3. Hot glue the shapes on the apron.

4. Using the fabric paint, create your message. Be sure to put cardboard or a thick sheet of paper underneath the apron to avoid the paint leaking through.

I’m skipping “educational activities” this week~let’s just focus on being thankful for the fathers in our lives. I lost my father at a very young age so if your child does not have a father, perhaps you can change this around to “Queen of the Grill” and give your mom and thank you gift for being both “Mommy and Daddy”.

Thanks Momondealz!
