Friday Fails: Oranges & Dinner Timeline

friday fail

Husband: “What kind of oranges did you buy?”

Me: “What do you mean? Regular oranges.”

Husband: “I have never seen an orange like this. Something is wrong with it!”

I came over to look at this mysterious orange and discovered I had bought blood oranges by mistake! My husband had never heard of such a thing and was concerned about the state of the orange. The unfortunate thing is that they are a bit to tart for my boys.

Blood Oranges

The other fail this week- my oven was turned off midway though cooking a 5lb turkey breast. I have know idea how it happened! I went to pull the turkey out when the timer beeped and the oven didn’t seem hot- warm but not hot. The turkey, or course, was not done. Ahhhh, oven is off!

So, I made the boys good old fashioned PB&J for dinner. My husband and I waited an hour for the turkey to finish. It was good, but keeping the sides warm for an hour was a challenge.

How about you, any fails this week?

Sometimes eating out is just so much easier! We live in a rural area so we don’t have much to choose from!

I had to laugh when I read your post tonight 🙂 Hubby and I discovered the differences in oranges last winter when we were in Florida… it was a nice treat because they were in season, but I had no idea how many varieties there were… kind of like apples where I live 🙂

The dinner fail is just plain not fun, but something of a memory.. Hubby and I would have likely had PB&J and had leftover turkey another night. We’re not as patient as you were.. Lol

The oranges were pretty funy! I really couldn’t understand why my husband was talking so funny about the oranges. Then I took a look and realized the mistake! Oh well!
