Holidays can be stressful. We all know that spending increases around the holidays. There are gifts to buy, parties to plan for and large holiday meals. Start planning now. There are many ways that you can earn extra money to offset the holiday spending increase.
Look around your house, in your attic or basement. Do you have items that you no longer use? Sell them on ebay, craigslist, at a consignment store or have a yard sale. I currently have items listed on craigslist and I have dropped off items to the Goodie Bag, a local consignment store. I would love to have a yard sale but I live out in the country; not the best location for traffic.
If you are going to sell your items, make sure they are in good shape. Take a little extra time to clean them, find all of the parts and the instructions. Doing these little things will net you top dollar for your items. When pricing your items, keep in mind you will not get back what you spent. Most items do depreciate.
Another idea for making extra money is using your talents! My mom is a wonderful seamstress. She is now picking up a few mending and hemming jobs to earn some extra money. My mom loves to sew and it doesn’t actually feel like work to her.
