This post is for the more advanced coupon users. If you are new to couponing, I would stick to the good old fashioned paper coupons until you are comfortable. Electronic coupons can be used in conjunction with paper coupons. They are stored on your store savings card; like your Kroger Plus card. You can also store electronic coupons on your cellphone with cellfire or yowza!! (i-phone app.).
We recently wrote a post about yowza!! and you can review it HERE.
Cellfire e-coupons can be loaded onto your cellphone OR your store savings card. I have opted to load mine onto my store savings card. You do have to sign up with your cellphone number for registration purposes though. There are many stores that use cellfire e-coupons such as Kroger, Dillons, Frys, Ralphs, Smiths and several more.
Shortcuts is another company offering e-coupons. Shortcuts offers a variety of coupons and I have had good success with them.
So, the newest electronic coupons are available from a company called Bringing Hope to the Table. It is very easy to sign-up for, only an e-mail address and store card number required. The stores that work with Bringing Hope are some of the same ones that work with cellfire and shortcuts.
One of the e-coupon companies I am most excited about is U-promise. Do you want to save money for your child’s college? Well, U-promise can help! U-promise offers many ways to save money for college through shopping, linking your store cards, e-coupons and shopping online to name a few. The e-coupons are great! You will not get money off your total at the store. However, the money saved via the e-coupon will go into a college savings account for your child. I have even better news; the U-promise e-coupons can be linked to your CVS, Kroger, Harris Teeter and Food Lion cards!
How do they work? After you load your e-coupons onto your card, they are automatically taken off at checkout when you swipe your store card. For other offers that may be stored on your cellphone, like Jiffy Lube, just show the cashier your coupon on your phone.
Can you load more than one? You can load coupons from all companies onto your card. However, each company only allows you to load one like coupon. Example: U-promise has a softsoap coupon for $1.50, you can only load this coupon onto your card one time (BTW, this should pair nicely with the CVS ECB deal on softsoap this week!).
Will e-coupons double? No e-coupons will not double.
Do they work? I have had pretty good success with using cellfire and shortcuts coupons at Kroger. I have not tried the Bringing Hope to the Table coupons yet as this is a new company. There are e-coupons available through Proctor and Gamble and I have had less success with these. I do not even add the Proctor and Gamble coupons to my cars anymore. I would love to try yowza, but I am lacking the essential ingredient, the i-phone!
Thanks to Southern Savers for the Bringing Hope e-coupons!
