Coupons for Overseas Troops

In honor of our troops, we have started a community service project that will support our overseas troops. It turns out that overseas military families can use expired manufactures coupons for up to six months after the expiration date at the commissaries. So, instead of throwing away those unwanted and expired coupons, we are sending them overseas! I know how much these families can use your expired coupons the guy in the picture is my husband and we were in the military for 8 yrs. I hope that Renae and I can inspire all of you to save your expired coupons.

Only manufactures coupons can be accepted. No Internet printable coupons can be sent.

Tips for making this a great project:

Cut coupons out. This will make it easier for them and less weight for shipping fees!

Sort coupons into two categories; food items and non-food items.

Place categorized coupons into Ziploc bags labeled with Food or Non-food.

Send only coupons that are expired by two months. It takes time for the coupons to get to where they are going!

We have decided to adopt a base through http://www.ocpnet.org/ . We looked over the list of bases in need and decided to adopt U.S. Navy Sigonella, Sicily!

I love this idea!. Any way to support the military is great. Dad was a Naval officer for 20 years, and we served overseas, so know that it is sometimes hard to get all the savings offered in the States.

Hope you get a drop box in Charlottesville soon.

This is WONDERFUL that you are doing this! We are currently stationed in Germany and groceries ARE more expensive here! On the economy (buying from the Germany grocery store) it is even more expensive with the Euro/Dollar exchange being around 1Euro to our 66cents!

Also with the Commissary you can only use ONE coupon – no doubles or stacking! So it is WONDERFUL that there are people stateside willing to send us their expired coupons! (Especially for diapers!)

THANK YOU THANK YOU from one coupon clipping Army Wife stationed in Germany…

ps — do you have a button for your site? or this program? I would love to post it on my blog! :)
