EMBRACE THE MESS!!!

How many times have you thought “I’d love to do an art project with my child(ren) today” but then quickly you change your mind. Why? Because of the HUGE mess that will inevitably happen no matter how ‘clean’ the project claims to be. Somehow your child(ren) manage to make even the simplest cleanest projects into a HUGE mess. This never fails right?? I’ve got news for you!

Embrace the mess!

(Now most of you are thinking I’m crazy right?) Honestly, the last thing you want to do is clean up ANOTHER mess right? I can understand that but just bear with me. Your child(ren) will get so many things out of the mess they create!

First, it allows them to completely embrace their creative side. Without limits a child is able to fully explore their creative selves.

Next, children learn so much through their senses. Why not let them get a sensory experience in a ‘controlled’ environment? You know this is safe, who knows what they will find later on their own .

Lastly, these memories will last a lifetime with your child. It will be something they can look back and say “I loved doing this with my parents! I’m going to do this with my own children!”

So stop and think: is cleaning up one more mess really that big of deal???
