Welcome to Couponing for the Extremely Normal!
Yesterday’s grocery shopping trip included some “rain check shopping.” If you haven’t already noticed, the cost of groceries is climbing. I have a way to combat the increase in prices. When I go to the store and they are out of an item at a very good price, I make a note on my shopping list and ask for a rain check before I leave the store. My collection of rain checks from my local grocery store has served me well.
I was able to purchase four bottles of steak sauce for $1 each, kitty litter for 50% off the regular price, and apples for $2 less than the lowest priced ones available. In order for rain check shopping to be even more effective, match your rain checks up to coupons. Another good rule of thumb is to buy at least two or more of the item. Most rain checks don’t state limits on the number of items you can buy. Most rain checks don’t expire.
Have you done any rain check shopping lately?
