Easy Kid Smoothie Recipes that Everyone Can Enjoy!

I’ve really enjoyed being a part of LACTAID’s summer campaign. I’ve learned so much, and I’ve discovered some great new recipes! Back in May, I attended a fantastic webinar with Melissa d’ Arabian, celebrity chef, LACTAID Brand Spokesperson, and author of the NY Times best selling cookbook, Ten Dollar Dinners. The participants learned tons of information about lactose intolerance, LACTAID products, and preparing lactose-free beverages and meals.

On June 25, Melissa d’Arabian appeared on The TODAY Show, where she prepared chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce made with LACTAID Milk. Watch her awesome television appearance HERE!

This is just one of the countless delicious recipes that you can make using LACTAID products – recipes that your entire family can enjoy, whether they are lactose intolerant or not! LACTAID’s official website lists a variety of recipes, including Creamy Garlic Potatoes, Sweet Potato Pie, and Chocolate Banana Pudding Strawberry Shortcake. But I decided to get creative and come up with my own recipe using LACTAID Milk. As I posted earlier this summer, my daughters love smoothies. And I love them because they’re fast and simple – and because it’s easy to hide healthy ingredients in smoothies for picky eaters like my kids.

My kids and I loved both the taste and the texture of this smoothie – and they had no idea that it was made with something other than their regular milk. This is a great basic recipe to build upon – we enjoyed it as is, but you can add or change the ingredients to match your family’s tastes. I love to include flax seed in my recipes because of its multiple health benefits. But as you can see in this great post by Rachelle, you can also use smoothies to sneak veggies and other foods into your kid’s diet! LACTAID makes it easy to create delicious smoothies for the whole family – even those with lactose intolerance.

Thanks to LACTAID, now people with lactose intolerance can enjoy many smooth, creamy foods and beverages – like this Chocolate Banana Smoothie!
