Dear Friends,

Madame Deals believes a strong sense of community enables everyone. We would like to give those of you who live in our area a chance to announce events that you are having on our site. We will do so every Friday. The events have to be family friendly.

To submit your event, place Friday in the subject line and email it to e-mail-icon Please include the date and time of your event and a picture if you have one.

Examples: Donate books, dvds, cds to the library they would be appreciated by all, local company collects school supplies for donation, local company marks down inventory.


  • Fluvanna Library:

Old Movies, Music, Books?Help the Library out by donating your old movies, books, music…  It can be deducted on your taxes!  Drop them by anytime.
Knitting & Crochet

  • Starting Setptember 9 – Wednesdays 10 a.m. – 12 noon
  • Come once, every, or randomly – All Skill Levels Welcome!
  • Bring a current project or come and learn how to make something new.

Weightloss Challenge

  • Join our Weight-Loss Challenge with Ellen and Tom Edwards as our personal coaches.
  • Starting Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.
  • $20 for a 12-week class

Fall Toddler Time

  • Join us for fun stories and crafts!

Old Games?

  • We are looking for donations of old or slightly used board games for the Library.
  • Do you have some sitting in a closet or under a bed? Drop them off anytime!
Hooks, Needles and Yarn!

  • Do you have extra or old crochet hooks, knitting needles, or yarn at home? Donate them to the Library – just drop them by.
  • We would like to start a needlework group and maybe some classes too starting this Fall and could use the help.

  • Fluvanna Library is working with Timo fundraiser in their Photo Exhibition and Silent Auction.  Photos are up in the library meeting rooms, and Silent Auction funds go towards the Timo Fundraiser/Fire and Rescue Departments.  Angell Husted is leading this.

  • Free Block Party sponsored by The Point Church of Charlottesville. Everyone is welcome!!

    Thursday, October 1, 4pm – 7pm
    (for picking up any unsold consignment items)
    Consignor checks will be mailed on 10/31/2009.
