Chutzpah: Just Jumping to conclusions

ChutzpaChutzpah. This is a word that is used often by myself because sometimes I just can’t believe what people do. I mean really! I thought it would be fun to share our Chutzpah moments. The only rules are no names of stores, people, or events. You may also not use inappropriate language. Leave a comment listing your favorite Chutzpah moment! I mean laughter is the best medicine.

chutzpah Or khutspe. Nerve, extreme arrogance, brazen presumption. In English, chutzpah often connotes courage or confidence, but among Yiddish speakers, it is not a compliment.

I recently posed a question on my face book wall it had to do with the bill that seeks to provide birth control as a requirement for healthcare coverage. The debate was heated because it involved requiring the Church to provide coverage. I did not express my opinion. I just wanted to see what others had to say. I really wanted to learn what the beliefs of my fans were and the reason for their beliefs.

I actually enjoy hearing what others have to say. I am working on listening to others without judgment. It is a very hard thing to do. I often reread opposing views to mine so I can further my quest to be more reflective and less judgmental.

I asked the question. i did not offer my opinion and i just read the comments. Then a comment appeared that a lady was leaving my page and she would pray for me. I mean pray because I asked a question. I think before you offer to pray for someone you should ask them what they think. I have to say I am not a fan of people not listening to others. If someone has an opinion that differs from yours ask them why. You can also learn a lot from the opposition. When I was on the debate team they always said read as much as  you can about opposing beliefs because it will affirm your position and help you to understand all arguments. I responded by telling the woman that my facebook place was not for her if she wasn’t interested in learning from and about others. I am on a helping others resolution this year and that includes helping others learn to accept people that are different. It will change your life forever. I always say why don’t you talk to someone who you have never spoken to a learn about them.
