Chutzpah: Budget Cuts

ChutzpaChutzpah. This is a word that is used often by myself because sometimes I just can’t believe what people do. I mean really! I thought it would be fun to share our Chutzpah moments. The only rules are no names of stores, people, or events. You may also not use inappropriate language. Leave a comment listing your favorite Chutzpah moment! I mean laughter is the best medicine.

chutzpah Or khutspe. Nerve, extreme arrogance, brazen presumption. In English, chutzpah often connotes courage or confidence, but among Yiddish speakers, it is not a compliment.

What does a budget cuts and a school have in common. It is often the first place that receives budget cuts. We need to get our focus in on improving our schools. We are failing miserably to educate our youth. The good teachers are leaving in flocks because teaching has become paperwork central. Teachers are not able to be creative and spend their time planning lessons instead they are documenting every word that 28 students say daily. We are wasting their talents.

I am also tired of all of these SOL test lets be honest here they are a waste of money. If you want to cut something out of the school budget lets cut those. If you want to make further cuts lets not allow the government to make up laws like no child left behind because frankly they have not set foot in a classroom. If you do not want children to be left behind put your money where your mouth is and fund education. I guess they are afraid if they allow the population to be educated that they may actually lose their jobs. I hope you all have the Chutzpah to fight budget cuts in your area. We need to protect our schools.
