Cheap Dates

How long has it been since you and your “other half” were on a date? Seems like everyone is cutting back their spending and trying to save more. But it is so important that we continue some things like spending quality time with our significant other. Not only do we deserve it, we NEED it! Madame Deals and Living on Love and Cents have teamed up to bring you Dating on a Dime. Go here to see the previous posts.

I often times find I need special items at Whole Foods. I try to stick to my rule and only coupon shop at one store a week and one drug store if necessary. I do on occasion get in the mood for something fancy for lunch or dinner. I am still living in the budget but sometimes I have to buy something special. I have an affinity for Irish butter which is $2.00 or less at Whole Foods and $6.00 at the grocery store. I decided I need a couple of indulgent items that are cheaper so I called my husband and asked him to meet me for a shopping date.
Its love. I mean I really like the Whole Foods buffet. They charge you buy the pound and since we like to keep our dates at $20.00. We were able to score a great gourmet lunch for just that. I had the most amazing fish and steamed veggies. He had over a pound of food of all varieties. They have a picnic table outside or seating inside. It isn’t romantic but it is quick and reasonable. We also had a great time picking out what we were going to cook for dinner together. I think it was a nice way to combine what I had to do with what I wanted to do.

Such a great idea! We have a toddler so we haven’t spent much time out as a couple lately. I think I’ll give this idea a try! Thanks!
