Celebrating the Easter Season with Friends

Not Your Normal Easter Season Recipes

I love spending time with friends and with kids it get hard to enjoy nights out very often. We try to get together on a monthly basis for adult conversation, fun, and of course food. The kids love it because we are always trying out new yummy dessert recipes and they get to help. This month was no different and with Easter coming I wanted to try out some new Easter Recipes. I get sick of the traditional pies and desserts so I ventured outside of my normal recipes. I was also looking for recipes that the kids could do. I think it is important for both boys and girls to experience the fun of cooking.

I decided to create my version of Resurrection Rolls using Great Value Crescent Rolls. While picking up my Great Value Crescent Rolls, I decided that I was going to sneak a little Irish magic in there. I decided to use the Great Value Cinnamon Rolls and create a Shamrock Cinnamon Roll.

My favorite recipe that I made was the recipe for Resurrection Rolls. My family celebrates the commercial as well as the religious Easter Season but I had never made Resurrection Rolls. I wanted to change things up so I substituted Peeps into my recipe.

Easter Season Resurrection Rolls Ingredients

2 packages Great Value Crescent Rolls

1 package of Peeps

Easter Season Resurrection Rolls Directions

Preheat oven to 400*

Unroll crescent rolls and separate into triangles.

Using a rolling pin – roll out the triangles slightly.

Place 1 peep in the center of the triangle and fold up.

Make sure to pinch the edges closed.

Place seam sides down on baking sheet.

Bake in oven for 14 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from oven and open them up to find the surprise!

Our party could not have been better but there was great discussion over the merits of coloring Easter Eggs if they are never eaten. Watch for my follow-up article to see what we decided to do.

In the spirit of the Easter Season, I also made the following:

Jelly Been Fudge

Peep Smores

Dunkaroo Dip with Animal Crackers

Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Bread
