Celebrate Mothers Day by Saying #ThanksBaby

Celebrate Mothers Day by Saying #ThanksBaby

This review was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Pampers. I was provided the featured product free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

This Mother’s Day marks my 12th year as a mother. Before I became a mother, I always thought about the things my mother taught me and never thought of what she might have learned from me. Over the past 12 years I have learned many things from my children and this year I have a gift to give to them, My letter of thanks for everything they have taught me. It is especially special as I watch my sister celebrate her second Mother’s Day and my nephew turn 13 months. As part of Pampers #ThanksBaby campaign, I am going to share my thank you letter with you and a recent family picture of my two babies now at 10 and 15. I get my baby fix weekly with visits from my nephew who keeps us on our toes and teaches me lessons of his own.

Dear Kids, It is hard to imagine that you are both growing up so fast. It seems like just yesterday I met N for the first time. Over the years I have tried my hardest to teach you everything you have needed to know as you were growing up and will still continue to do so even when you grow up and leave the house. Sometimes when I stop long enough to think (yes I do think sometimes) I realize that you both have taught me so much more over the years and for all of those lessons I am thankful. Because I know J is going to ask what those lessons are and N you will eventually decided that you want to know to, I have made a list but apologize if I have forgotten a thing or ten. You have to remember you both have stolen some of my brain cells over the years. I love you both for teaching me patience, though you don’t realize it I am much more patient than when I was in my early twenties. I love you for teaching me how to see things thru a child’s eyes again, things are always so much more fun that way. Thank you for making me step outside of my comfort zone and try new things even though you don’t always know you do this. Thank you for showing me how to love unconditionally even when I don’t deserve it. Thank you for teaching me that I can stay up for 48 hours with no sleep, I can survive on soda and junk food if I need to, that there is no such thing as no more vomiting just because I said so, that there is always room for 1 more person in the bed, that my food will always test better than the food on your plate even though we are eating the same thing, and that only mom’s can make boo-boos better. I love that you have shown me that it is okay to buy a child something every time you are at the store without turning them into a brat, that you can never have enough slurpees, that there will always be a diaper that is worse than the one before, and that grandma will always out rank mom and dad when it comes to a duel. These are just some of the lessons you have taught me over the years and I sit here teary eyed writing this to you. I hope you both know how much you mean to me and just having you in my life has made me a richer woman. I love you both and you are all I need for Mother’s Day.  Love Mom!
