As a blogger you are a service provider. We are often paid for our services. We often use Paypal to collect compensation but we needed other Small Business Payment Options. I am going to tell you that you are not protected when you use Paypal. I had a horrible experience. I thought the event was corrected but the “buyer” is up to his dirty tricks again. This prompted me to seek alternatives options.

I figured I would share them with you because it is important to consider the best protection for your time.

There are no start-up charges, monthly charges, hidden fees, or long-term contracts. Fees are assessed on a per-transaction basis and vary depending on the transaction amount. They are based on a percentage of the transaction amount plus a per transaction fee.

It is easy to set up and use. As a website owner I know most of my customers know amazon and would trust billing from them. I can also easily set this up on my site to receive payments.


Chase Quick Pay– This works similar to paypal. You sign up for an account and you can pay people. It looks like it works best if you are a chase customer so it would not be as convenient as paypal.

Small Business Payment Options- using Google I do not believe I would have received better service from Google.

Note that our policy does not cover:

  • Intangible goods, such as services and digital content.
  • Chargebacks resulting from claims of defective merchandise or items not as described, credit for cancelled or returned orders, or duplicate billing.

Money Orders

Propay – a digital prepaid account with American Express.  No credit checks.  No monthly fees.  No annual fees.  Similar to Paypal, you can pay in stores, online, and mobile.  You can also send and request money on Facebook!

I am now working with my accountant and I believe I am going to use Intuit. It is really easy to set up and use and the fees are great. I have to say I pay $200+ for the software yearly but at tax time I am ready!
