We live in the 21st century and gone are the days where women just stays at home to raise kids, while men works for the family. Now our family dynamics is changing and there’s a growing number of stay-at-home dads. A&E has a fun new reality show entitled Modern Dads, which let’s us see the lives of these daddies and their families.
Growing up in a traditional family set-up of men working while women raise children, I was instantly curious about Modern Dads. I got a chance to see the premiere episode and at first I wasn’t really expecting much, but as it went on it became really entertaining. A&E managed to cast four interesting and charming stay-at-home dads from Texas, we see how they deal with every day life of raising kids and see their relationship with their partners. There’s the single dad, the new dad, the stepdad and the dad with four kids. It’s like a daddy support group where they go to the park to bond together, exchange parenting tips and chat. Their banters are quite funny and ladies we all finally get to see what men talk about when they’re together, after all these daddies are still dudes!
Modern Dads features four stay-at-home dads who may be a little unconventional, but they get the job done. Banding together, their “guys club” is a tribe of suburban, child-rearing dudes who are just trying to do their thing…with a kid (or four) on their hip. A good day at the office for them is just keeping their kids—and their manhood—alive.
A&E’s new original series, Modern Dads, premiering Wednesday, August 21 at 10:30/9:30c.
