Sensible Saver Sunday
If you live in Virginia or ever come for a visit, then you have to take a trip to the Virginia Safari Park. We took a day trip today and had a wonderful time. We actually did not spend that much money either.
We started the day getting a free breakfast at Burger King. My husband had two free breakfast croissant coupons he had won from a previous trip to Burger King. The bonus, on our receipts it says to call for a survey and you can earn a free whopper. Hummm, I wonder how long we can keep this rolling for?
At the Safari Park you can drive your own vehicle through to see all of the animals. We chose to take the wagon ride so our car would not look like this:
The wagon ride was $18 per adult and it included a bucket of feed. Our kids were free since they are under three. Now, before we even went on the wagon ride, we walked around and visited the petting zoo. There is so much to see and the animals are all active.
The wagon ride lasts about an hour. There is a nice picnic spot (away from all of the animals!) that makes this day trip even more affordable.
Safari Park is just one of the many sites to see in the Natural Bridge Area. Our kids fell asleep in the car after the wagon ride. So, we just plotted out our next adventure to this area! There is the Natural Bridge Zoo, a Wax Museum, Natural Bridge, Natural Bridge Caverns, and a Dinosaur Kingdom. If you head up 81, you can also find a lot to do in Raphine. You can pick your own berry’s at Orchard Side Farm, visit Buffalo Springs Herb Farm, Wade’s Mill or Cyrus McCormick Farm. We will be headed back to the Natural Bridge area several times to visit all of these places.
To complete our adventure today, we picked up our free slurpees from 7-11! A day of fun on a frugal budget! And stay tuned for my review on the Sharp Shopper Grocery store in Waynesboro- yeah we took a little side trip on the way home!
